Final Look at DigiPak and Magazine Advert

DigiPak
Over the past couple of weeks as a group, we have spent a lot of time playing around with PhotoShop to finalise the whole of our DigiPak. We have tried to stick close to the genre of our music, 'indie'. The style of filter we used, is very similar to what Disclosure use on their albums. It creates an edgy and eerie feel to the album like our music video.

This is the cover of our Digipak, this shot is taken from the beginning of our video, where Connor shows two sides of his character. The shot was taken from outside a square of four mirrors, which is how we got the effect of 'lots' of Connor. We used the effect of 'glowing edges' to create the electronic feel and how we wanted it to look like. We spent a lot of time of the front cover of our digipak as where we had taken a screenshot of the cover, had the legs of the mirrors we used to take the image as well as the mouse print was on the photo. In order to get rid of these errors, we had to use the clone stamp to take another area of the picture and use it to cover the 'errors' with the colour it we had.

Here is the left hand side of our inside cover. We came across this idea by accident, however it creates a strong feeling of mystery and unknown about the artist which is similar to our video. We used the same effect on this side as we did on the front cover. We have added a small amount of information about the artist, to give the audience a brief background on what the album has involved.

This is the right hand side of our inside cover. It is highlighting a crime scene after the murder has happened. Again, the same filter was used on this side to keep the continuity the same. All the different crime objects have been seen throughout our music video, which connects both our pieces of work well.

The back cover of our Digipak took us the most amount of time. We wanted this side to be precise and to link in with parts of the Digipak and the music video. The shirt on the left hand side is linked to our music video, as it is the shirt in which Connor murders the victim, the white patches on the shirt, represent the blood splatter.
The track numbers are the same as our crime scene numbers, which relate to another side of our Digipak. The track names have a shadow behind them to further emphasise them and enable them to stand out. The yellow works well with the filter that has been applied.
We also added copyright sentence and a barcode. These are normal/simple things that are added to the back of a digipak.

Magazine Advert

Like our digipak, we used the effect of glowing edges to create the electronic look that we wanted. To relate both of the texts together, we had to do some particular things. For instance, the front cover of the digipak, we took a screenshot of it and applied it to bottom corner of our magazine advert to link them together.
When we were inserting the stars on our magazine advert we learnt how a new feature. As the original image had only three stars, we had to crop two photos together and along with this, we used the magic wand tool to remove the unneeded parts of the stars.
